Donations Pour in for Families of Key Bridge Construction Workers

The Republican Women of Baltimore County have joined forces with the nonprofit organization Construction Angels in a statewide initiative to raise funds for the families of the deceased Key Bridge Construction workers.

Construction Angels, Inc., a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that provides immediate financial assistance and grief counseling to the children (19 years and younger) and spouse left behind when a construction worker is involved in a work-related fatality.

Louise Baker, President of RWBC, commented, "We collaborated with Construction Angels last year to support the families of the six road workers tragically lost on I-695. Their responsiveness and assistance were exemplary. Construction Angels promptly established a local fund to aid those families, with our club members generously contributing to meet the $50,000 target."

The Republican Women of Baltimore County have joined forces again with the nonprofit organization Construction Angels in a statewide initiative to raise funds for the families of the deceased Key Bridge Construction workers.

Construction Angels will provide $8,000 to the spouse and/or children (19 years and younger) or $3,000 in Angel Support (if the worker does not have a spouse/children). In addition, the nonprofit offers up to $1,000 in Grief Counseling to the family and/or company employees. For children who have lost a parent due to a construction fatality, the nonprofit offers scholarships.

Founder and CEO of Construction Angels Kristi Ronyak has worked tirelessly to make Construction Angels a success since its inception in 2011. “These workers are in dangerous surroundings and understand it is part of the job. These hard-working employees who work paycheck to paycheck are typically the main providers for the family. Without additional financial support, many of these children and spouses are left behind with bills and the feeling of emptiness. We know it is important for these families to realize their loved one played an important role in building our future here in the United States. Construction Angels shows our industry that fallen workers are not forgotten and their families will continue to be supported through generous donations.”

Baker added, "We are honored to collaborate with Construction Angels to honor the memory of the deceased workers, whose contributions have helped shape the beautiful country we enjoy today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the Key Bridge workers."

It is emphasized that 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit these families.
