Many congratulations to RWBC Member Katie Swim who accepted the position of Education Committee Chairperson at the November 19, 2022 meeting. Katie has been integral in the legal research of pornographic and obscene books on the shelves of Baltimore County Public Schools. A recent graduate of Dulaney High School, Katie has been exposed to the sexualization of the BCPS curriculum.
Katie is not new to volunteering, she was active on the Dulaney High School Student Council, Administrative Leader for the Dulaney Marching Band and President of the National English Honor Society.
As RWBC Education Committee Chairperson, Katie will spearhead public school curriculum reviews, ensure only age-appropriate media is in our school libraries, make sure there is transparency for parents at BCPS and attend school board meetings either remotely or in person.
