Celebrating America at 250-RWBC Joins the Central Baltimore County Republican Club

America’s 250th anniversary is more than a single celebration—it is an opportunity for communities across our country to come together to honor our history, celebrate our freedoms, and reflect on the principles that have sustained our nation for two and a half centuries.

On July 21, 2026, Republican Women of Baltimore County (RWBC) was proud to continue its yearlong celebration of America’s 250th anniversary by supporting the Central Baltimore County Republican Club in its own patriotic America 250 celebration.

Approximately 40 people filled the room for an evening that combined patriotism, fellowship, food, political involvement, and enthusiasm for America’s historic 250th birthday.

RWBC members did much more than attend. They worked alongside Club President Maria Calabrese Zickuhr to help make the celebration a success, assisting with attendance, decorating for the occasion, and working with the president and speakers as plans for the evening came together.

The program included several local candidates and community leaders, including Jeff McDonald, candidate for Maryland House of Delegates District 42B; Nino Mangione, candidate for Republican Central Committee; and Pat Dyer, candidate for Baltimore County Executive.

President Maria Calabrese Zickuhr described the July 21 gathering as a celebration with a “full house of Patriots,” noting the enthusiasm and fellowship among those in attendance as they decorated, shared their favorite foods, enjoyed each other’s company, and talked about the future.

The evening captured something particularly meaningful about America’s 250th anniversary: celebrating our country does not have to be limited to large ceremonies or formal commemorations. It can also happen when friends, neighbors, volunteers, and community leaders gather together in a room decorated in red, white, and blue to celebrate the country they love.

Extending the America 250 Celebration Beyond RWBC

For Republican Women of Baltimore County, participating in America 250 has been about more than hosting our own events. RWBC believes this historic anniversary presents an opportunity to encourage and support other organizations in celebrating America as well.

By working with fellow Republican organizations and sharing volunteers, ideas, enthusiasm, and resources, RWBC is helping extend the America 250 celebration throughout Baltimore County.

That spirit of cooperation has become an important part of RWBC’s yearlong America 250 initiative. Our members have celebrated America’s history, honored those who have contributed to our community, participated in patriotic public events, and worked alongside other organizations to encourage greater appreciation for the freedoms and opportunities Americans have inherited.

From our own America 250 and RWBC 60th Anniversary Celebration, to portraying American historical figures in the Towson Fourth of July Parade, to helping another local Republican club create its own America 250 celebration, RWBC members have embraced this once-in-a-generation opportunity.

America’s story belongs to all of us. It is a story of courage, sacrifice, perseverance, opportunity, and an enduring belief in liberty. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, Republican Women of Baltimore County is proud to work with organizations throughout our community to help ensure that the significance of America’s 250th birthday is recognized, celebrated, and passed along to the next generation.
