Baltimore County GOP Hosts Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus and Republican Women of Baltimore County Wins Chairman’s Award
The Baltimore County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) held its annual Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner at the Woodholme Country Club on Monday June 27, 2023. Keynote speaker, Congressman Scott Perry, Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus does not just talk the talk; he walks the walk in demonstrating how hard work can achieve success. In that same vein, Patty Fallon, BCRCC Chairperson awarded the “Chairman’s 2023 Award to the President of the Republican Women of Baltimore County Jolie McShane for dedication to Republican causes in Baltimore County. The Lincoln Reagan Dinner was attended by more than 150+ Republicans at the Woodholme Country Club in Owings Mills, MD.
Congressman Perry knows the importance of hard work and dedication. He’s the grandson of Colombian immigrants, and the son of a single mom who fled abuse and worked several jobs to survive and support her children. He enlisted in the Army in 1980, was recruited for Officer Candidate School and branch-transferred to Army Aviation. He’s commanded at the company, battalion and brigade levels and deployed to Iraq from 2009-2010 during which he flew 44 combat missions. Perry was selected for promotion to the rank of Brigadier General as the Assistant Division Commander of the 28th Infantry Division. After serving in his final position as Assistant Adjutant General, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Brigadier General Perry retired in 2019 after nearly 40 years of military service.
Scott Perry applies his years of Army leadership training in Congress. “The work is not easy. But the work of taking back our country is worth it,” said Congressman Perry. He explained the events leading up to the election of Speaker McCarthy and how this same team of 20 House Freedom Caucus members works together on major issues like the debt ceiling negotiation, border issues and committee investigations. Scott Perry does not use polls in deciding his votes on legislation. He does what is right for his constituents for the right reasons. He and the rest of the Freedom Caucus are willing to vote accordingly. And the country is better because of their commitments.
Scott Perry told the audience that we must “want to win”.
The evening concluded with recognition to those who volunteered to make the evening a success and the BCRCC Chairman’s Award. Patty Fallon, BCRCC Chairperson awarded the “Chairman’s 2023 Award to the President of the Republican Women of Baltimore County Jolie McShane for her dedication to Republican causes in Baltimore County.
