Just doing my job is what they said,
with no regards for who was dead,
As they shot, beat, and spray,
All we could do was pray,
The patriots came in peace,
We never saw it coming,
All of us in shock at what they have done,
It was supposed to be peaceful and fun,
Old and young and all walks of faiths,
Meet on the grass as one,
Boom, boom, boom is all I could hear,
All I could do was look on in fear,
Benjamin and Kevin lay still,
On what would now be a bloody hill,
I watch in shock of the unreal,
But the judge says ignore it, he doesn’t feel,
Just doing my job is what they said,
With no regards for who was dead,
They aimed and bashed so many in the head,
Just doing my job is what they said,
Never did I think I’d see the day,
Where this would happen in the USA,
So many freedoms we thought we had,
But that was before it all went bad,
I thought I had a chance, I said,
Just get me up on the stand,
I begged and pleaded, trying to show,
Just what had happened at the hands of D.C. Metro,
3 years after that terrible day,
Report to FCI Elkton is what they say,
Leave everything and report to your cave,
7 long years is what they gave,
Just doing my job is what they said,
But that won’t bring back the dead,
And it will never erase the images in my head,
Just doing my job is what they said.
