Honoring America's 250th Anniversary and 60 Years of Republican Women of Baltimore County

Nearly 100 members, guests, candidates, and friends gathered on June 20 for one of the most memorable events in the history of the Republican Women of Baltimore County—a celebration honoring America's 250th Birthday and the 60th Anniversary of our club.

From the moment guests arrived at the beautiful Wellspring of Life Farm, nestled among the rolling hills of Maryland's countryside, there was an unmistakable feeling that this would be much more than a monthly meeting. The picturesque setting, patriotic decorations, and warm fellowship created the perfect backdrop for celebrating two remarkable milestones.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Lester Leung, President of Wellspring of Life Farm, and Dawn Leung, Executive Director, for graciously opening their beautiful property to our organization. Dr. Leung welcomed everyone with an inspiring prayer, while Mrs. Leung shared the remarkable story of the farm, its military heritage, and its mission of providing therapeutic services to individuals of all ages, with a special commitment to serving our nation's veterans.

The afternoon featured an outstanding lineup of presentations celebrating patriotism, history, and service. Newly appointed Maryland Federation of Republican Women Americanism Chair Karen Tully reminded attendees why preserving America's founding principles remains as important today as ever. Her inspiring remarks set the tone for an afternoon devoted to honoring our nation's heritage.

One of the most moving moments of the celebration was the Ceremony of the Thirteen Folds of the American Flag, presented by an Eagle Scout. As each fold was carefully made, the audience learned the symbolic meaning behind every fold, transforming a familiar tradition into a powerful reminder of the values, sacrifices, and freedoms represented by our nation's flag. The ceremony drew heartfelt attention and appreciation from everyone in attendance.

Guests were then treated to a fascinating journey through six decades of club history as Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey, founder of the Republican Women of Baltimore County and former Maryland Delegate, reflected on the organization's beginnings. What started as a small gathering of women meeting over tea to discuss politics has grown into one of Maryland's most respected Republican women's organizations, serving both the community and conservative causes for sixty years.

The celebration also marked the official unveiling of the Republican Women of Baltimore County's new logo and banner. Newsletter Chair and talented graphic designer Barbara Miller shared the inspiration behind the new design, explaining how it reflects Maryland's rich heritage through symbols representing two of the state's historic industries—agriculture and manufacturing—while honoring both the club's proud legacy and its future.

Throughout the room, guests enjoyed a walk through the club's history with a special historical display featuring photographs, memorabilia, and milestones spanning six decades of service. Patriotic music filled the air as attendees admired displays of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and vibrant red, white, and blue decorations celebrating America's 250th Birthday.

The festivities continued with delicious barbecue, a beautifully decorated anniversary cake, homemade apple pie, patriotic trivia, and a lively silent auction. Many guests took advantage of farm life by interacting with the horses, ponies, cows, and goats under the guidance of the caring volunteers at Wellspring of Life Farm.

The overwhelming participation and generosity of our members enabled the Republican Women of Baltimore County to present a meaningful donation to Wellspring of Life Farm, supporting its extraordinary mission of serving veterans, children, and families through therapeutic programs.

As we celebrated 250 years of American independence and 60 years of Republican Women of Baltimore County, we were reminded that patriotism is more than remembering history—it is preserving our freedoms, serving our communities, and inspiring future generations to carry forward the principles that have made America exceptional.

It was truly an unforgettable afternoon of patriotism, fellowship, history, and hope for the future.

I've noticed that many online calculators only support a few basic shapes. It's refreshing to find a Volume Calculator that includes several different options instead of making you search for a separate tool every time.
