Baltimore County residents joined the August 5, 2023 national Brave Books movement to promote free speech in our libraries. The “See You at the Library” event took place at the Perry Hall Public Library from 9-10am and was well attended even though the hours assigned were very early for the families in attendance.
The morning began with a prayer, the pledge of allegiance and a faith-based song. The children joined in one by one to dance to “I Can Count on God”, a popular Christian song. This event was sponsored by both Brave Books and the local chapter of Mom’s for Liberty.
Two books were read to the children, As You Grow by Kirk Cameron and Our Table by Peter Reynolds. The first book was written by the founder of www.BraveBooks.com whose inspiration came from having been cancelled at libraries when he wanted to read his books. Now a national figure, Kirk Cameron has rallied thousands of Americans to support his efforts of teaching our youth faith, family and freedom through his books.
The mission of Brave Books is “to help parents instill a love of truth in their children so that the children will withstand harmful progressive influences. The purpose of Brave Books is to honor God by shaping a future generation of Americans, who will fight for a nation defined by freedom, truth, humility, bravery, and compassion.
Mom’s for Liberty is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government. As former school board members, they witnessed how short-sighted and destructive policies directly hurt children and families. Now they are using their first-hand knowledge and experience to unite parents who are ready to fight those that stand in the way of liberty. Mom’s for Liberty welcomes all that have a desire to stand up for parental rights at all levels of government.
